Guest Speaker: Ryan Dino I am Hawaii’s only manager for the SBSE (Small-Business/Self-Employed) Examination Division of the IRS. I manage the three programs under SBSE: general program (field exam), office audit, and the Special Enforcement Program (SEP). I started my career as a general program Revenue Agent in San Bernardino, California 11 years ago. I then went on to become a SEP Agent, conducting examinations with various elements of fraud and assisting Criminal Investigation in criminal investigations. After that, I became an ATTI (Abusive Transactions and Technical Issues) Agent, conducting investigations of abusive promoters and tax preparers. I relocated to Hawaii two years ago to become a Supervisory Revenue Agent for the examination group in Hawaii.
Ryan's topic will cover talking about the examination process, the taxpayer’s rights during the examination, what to expect during the examination, and also record keeping requirements for small businesses. There will be Q&A please come prepared with your questions.
